Best Buy

I not only like the company, but I really like it’s advertising techniques too. Advertising is something that Best Buy, in my opinion, is VERY good at. I know they are very good at regular marketing strategies such as print, TV commercials, and other “offline” marketing communication strategies, but I have come to find out that Best Buy is also plugged into the “online” marketing trend as well. They have numerous videos online, as well as company executives posting blogs online, and interacting with customers in a very real way (January and February Best Buy Advertising). They have jumped into Web 2.0. They have tons of YouTube videos of Best Buy employees promoting Best Buy products, and many of those employees base their “pitch” on their own life experiences. It is a good strategy that Best Buy employs – have a relationship with customers (or as they call them, guests), and relate to them and their purchasing needs through shared life experiences. This YouTube video is a good example of the strategies Best Buy uses to become a part of the Web 2.0 experience.
Best Buy also has a great website that really interacts with customers, and basically brings the store to them. It does a great job of integreting “offline” with “online”, allowing users to do things such as buy a product online and then pick it up at their local store, as well as view current Best Buy newspaper ads in their location, online.
